Colombian singer Shakira marked her return to FIFA’s musical legacy by dropping the teaser for ‘Dai Dai’, the official anthem for World Cup 2026, featuring Nigerian Singer Burna Boy. Shakira is popularly called ‘Queen of World Cup Music’ for her famous releases like ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’ for World Cup 2010 and ‘La La La’ for the 2014 edition.

The ‘Dai Dai’ track – an Italian phrase meaning “Come on, Come on” – is scheduled to release on May 14 and will mark Shakira’s second official FIFA World Cup song after “Waka Waka”. She mentioned on Instagram that the song was filmed inside the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is expected to echo across Canada, Mexico and USA during the 2026 World Cup.

The official one-minute music video teaser was posted in collaboration with the Global Citizen and FIFA World Cup. In the music video, Shakira can be seen wearing a bright yellow and royal blue attire representing Columbia, alongside a group of dancers all dressed in the colours of the national teams participating in the 2026 tournament.

Another major highlight is the appearance of the official match balls from the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, subtly referencing the tournaments in which Shakira played a significant role, as far as music is concerned – she performed to ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ at the 2006 edition.

The music carries a strong Afrobeats rhythm while the lyrics “what once broke you made you strong”, captures a message that transcends sports.

The teaser ends with an aerial shot of the Maracanã Stadium with the phrase, “We are Ready” setting the tone for the upcoming tournament.
