Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have roped in South Africa's Gerald Coetzee as an injury replacement for David Payne for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He will join SRH for ₹2 crore.

Payne—who played two games for SRH in the ongoing IPL season and picked up two wickets—was ruled out of the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury. Right-arm seamer Coetzee is an experienced international star, having played four Tests, 14 ODIs, and 18 T20Is for South Africa. To his IPL credit, Coetzee has 15 wickets from 14 games, having previously represented Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI).

SRH are currently fifth in the table with two wins and three defeats and are up against CSK next on Saturday.
