The recent post by former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar inviting political personalities to his son, Arjun Tendulkar's wedding, landed in a controversy.
The discussion gained momentum online after netizens observed a post by the cricketer with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, inviting him to the wedding. It has been claimed by some social media users that the initial post with the Congress leader was deleted and later reposted, triggering political debates and mixed public reactions.
Our family had the opportunity to meet Shri @RahulGandhi ji and invite him to Arjun-Saaniya’s wedding.

The official social media handle of Kerala Congress claims that the initial post was taken down due to it going viral after clocking 627K views in just over two hours.
" Sachin Tendulkar was in Delhi yesterday inviting political leaders for his son Arjun’s wedding and shared photos from the meetings. He posted his picture with Modi at 7:13 PM, with Amit Shah at 8:18 PM, with Honourable President Smt. Droupadi Murmu at 8:48 PM, and with @RahulGandhi at 9:22 PM. Among all these, the post with Rahul Gandhi went viral, clocking 627K views in just over two hours," mentioned a post by Kerala Congress.
The post went on to say that this might not have gone down well with the central leadership, forcing it to be taken down and reposted at a time when it would not get much traction.
"Apparently, that did not go down well with the King. The King’s men allegedly pressured Sachin to delete the post and quietly repost it at 12:19 AM, when most people are asleep, hoping it would not attract the same traction. But by then, people had already noticed. If someone sitting in the highest chair in the country feels insecure over social media views, it is not strength. It is deep insecurity dressed up as power," the post mentioned.
The controversy received mixed responses from netizens, with some supporting the claims and others saying the initial post was edited, hence had to be taken down.
As per media reports, Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandok's wedding is expected to be an intimate affair attended by close family members and friends on March 5. The couple reportedly got engaged in a private ceremony last year, which was attended only by close relatives and friends.
