Cricket is a religion in India and for many, it's a lot more than that. MS Dhoni is arguably the biggest cricketing icon of the modern era and right up there with Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli as India's greatest cricketers. Dhoni's fan following ranges from all age-groups, from children to people in their old age.
While everybody wishes to catch a glimpse of Dhoni somehow at some point in their lives, it is not a wish that can be fulfilled easily. Which is why Dr Pramesh from Tata Memorial Hospital has taken to the social media platform X for a special cause. One of his pediatric patients, suffering from incurable cancer has one big 'final wish' so to speak - a meeting with Dhoni.
On Saturday (January 24), Dr Pramesh put up a post about his patient at 5.26 pm and the post has already garnered 81,000 views. Netizens have been actively tagging people ranging from Tendulkar to Kohli, Ashwin to Raina and Jay Shah to CSK etc. It has already gone past 482 reposts and 1700 likes as social media strives hard to get this special wish fulfilled.
Dr Pramesh tells us that the child had only two wishes, the other being to ride in a Lamborghini. That wish was taken care of, and this post had pictures of the kid in a red Lamborghini. The face of the patient was understandably blurred to safeguard his privacy. Dhoni is currently in Ranchi, preparing for the upcoming IPL season that starts in March.
Getting Dhoni for a direct meeting isn't an easy task and Dr Pramesh knows it as well. Hence, he even requested netizens with a virtual call as a bare minimum. Social media, though, is aiming big as netizens are on overdrive in a bid to make the kid's special wish come true. The idea from them and yours truly's intention to put this as a news copy is to ensure that the word reaches Dhoni in some way or the other.
Will all these attempts ensure the reach to Dhoni? If so, will MSD make the dream happen? We shall gave to wait and see.
