Virat Kohli made a stupendous start to 2026 by slamming two centuries in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand at home. While the Black Caps emerged 2-1 victors to claim their first-ever ODI series win in India, Kohli's heroics put him on track for his mission to play the 2027 ODI World Cup.

During the series decider in Indore, Kohli conjured a magical innings of 124, his 54th ODI ton and in the process, broke quite a few records as well. Unfortunately for the hosts, Kohli couldn't get them across the line. There were strong contributions from Nitish Reddy and Harshit Rana but in the end, New Zealand held their nerve to register a historic series win.
