A brace from Ousmane Dembele helped PSG to reclaim the top spot in Ligue 1, courtesy a comfortable 3-0 win at home against Lille on Saturday (January 17). Dembele opened the scoring in the 13th minute to put PSG on top and then completed his brace with an absolute moment of magic in the 64th minute to all but seal the deal for PSG.
In the dying seconds of the game, Bradley Barcola added another for himself to complete the drubbing as PSG completely outplayed Lille to move two points clear at the top of the table. However, Lens have a game in hand and can get back on top if they beat Auxerre later in the evening.

While PSG made short work of their Lille challenge, Dembele's second goal has already put itself in the list for 'Goal of the Year'. It might be premature to give it that tag as it's only mid-January and we have just under 11-and-a-half months left in 2026 but the Frenchman showed some incredible moves to unleash a silky chip shot goal.
A quick transition through triangular passing found Dembele on the edge of the box with two Lille defenders on either side of him with more opposition players moving towards him. However, the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner was cool as ice, dribbling a bit to and fro, before effortlessly chipping it over goalkeeper Berke Ozer who had committed himself a bit too forward.
The goal was only Dembele's fifth of the season from ten games, a far cry from the 2024-25 season where he was the joint top-scorer with 21 goals and also had eight assists in the league.
