AS Roma are in the final stages of their Joshua Zirkzee transfer deal with Manchester United. The Dutch striker has spent a large amount of his 2025-26 English Premier League season on the United bench with manager Ruben Amorim not keen on using him. Meanwhile, Roma are also imploring a loan move for Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi who is rated highly by manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

Gasperini is also keen on getting Zirkzee on-board but the final negotiations are still pending as the two clubs gear up to lock the deal amount. It will be a full circle moment for Zirkzee whose United deal in 2024 came after his 19-goal season with Bologna in 2023-24. If this deal materialises, it could help the 24-year-old to regain his lost form.

However, this deal will also depend on how the Red Devils fare in their bid to get Antoine Semenyo who is also linked with Manchester City and Liverpool. As per latest updates, United as in constant conversations with Bournemouth who aren't too keen on letting their star performer leave. However, the release clause of £65 million is there to be taken, although United may not be able to afford in one go.

Meanwhile, Roma have started their negotiations with Chelsea for Axel Disasi as a part of strengthening their backline. Gasperini is known for high-tempo style of attacking football but defensive vulnerabilities can also occur, like they did during his last phase with Atalanta last year.

Nevertheless, Disasi's potential loan move could be a big boost for Roma and if they crazk Zirkzee's move before that, it will be a fantastic coup for the Italian club.
