Mumbai Indians, arguably the most valued franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) are planning to expand the range of their business operations. The five-time IPL champions are gearing up to start a project called the 'MI Cafe' in their den city of Mumbai. The project is still in the nascent stage and reports suggest that the MI franchise are setting up for a third-party management of this project.

On Monday (December 8), Mumbai Indians on their official website dished out the process and requirements for those interested in taking control of the flagship MI Cafe project. Here are the steps and other details for interested applicants.
- A Request For Proposal (RFP) has to be sent via email to rfp@mumbaiindians.com with 'Request for MI Cafe RFP' as the subject line
- The RFP mail should have the organization's name, profile, contact person details, designation details, RFP transfer fee details and UTR info along with the mobile number, city and website/social media links
- A non-refundable amount of Rs 50,000 must be transferred to Indiawin Sports Private Limited through their HDFC bank account number mentioned on the site
- The applicant will get the RFP by mail once their payment has been verified
- 7th January 2026 is the deadline for applying for RFPs while 31st January 2026 is the deadline for Proposal Submissions
- 31st March 2026 is the date for presentations and discussions from the potential candidates
- A Letter of Intimation (LoI) shall be given to the chosen applicant on 31st May 2026
- A soft launch of the MI Cafe is expected by March 2027
