Abhishek Sharma continued his unstoppable form in T20 cricket with a sparkling century in the SMAT 2025 fixture against Bengal in Hyderabad on Sunday (November 30). With the city being Abhishek's second home due to his IPL franchise SunRisers Hyderabad, it was a happy homecoming for the left-hander who took all the Bengal bowlers apart, including veteran Mohammed Shami.

Sharma smoked 16 sixes and eight fours in his epic knock and led the way for Punjab's monstrous total of 310, their first score of 300-plus in the format. Punjab also became only the fifth team in T20 history to scale this peak after Zimbabwe, Baroda, Nepal and England. The total of 310 is also the fourth-highest score ever in T20 history.

Sharma set up an explosive double-century stand with fellow opener Prabhsimran Singh (70 off 35) as the pair added 205 in just 75 deliveries to demolish the bowlers. Ramandeep Singh (39 off 15) and Sanvir Singh (22 off 8) chipped in with cameos as Punjab posted a massive total on the board. All the bowlers got a hammering with Shami and Writtick Chatterjee both conceding over 60 runs apiece.

A total of 28 sixes were struck by Punjab's batters while 21 fours were clobbered as well. In response, Bengal were never really in the chase but skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran (130* off 66) produced a fantastic innings to do some damage control for his side. The no.3 batter struck 12 fours and eight sixes in his innings but one other Bengal batter got to double-digits, and that was Akash Deep at the no.10 spot.
