Who is Birva Shah? Pictures of Palash Muchhal proposing to his ex-girlfriend go viral after Smrithi Mandhana postpones wedding

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding, which was indefinitely postponed due to a family medical emergency, has now become the topic of widespread discussions on the internet.

Right after some unverified chat messages involving Palash and and another woman who was belived to be choreographer Mary D'Costa, flirting went viral on social media, new images have popped up. The photographs show Palash proposing to his former girlfriend, Birva Shah, with whom he had shared a long-term relationship.

The photograph from 2017 shows an elaborately decorated proposal. Along with that, an edited compilation of all the photographs they took while they were in a relationship also went viral.

Reports say that Palash was even planning a future together with Birva Shah, that he had planned out their decorated proposal.

Who is Birva Shah?

According to SportsDunia, the two met while Shah was a student at Jai Hind College through mutual friends.

The proposal photograph was shared on Facebook the same year. However, very little is known about Birva’s personal life or whereabouts. Reports say that she is a plastic surgeon.

Many fans and netizens are now speculating that Smriti Mandhana and Palash’s wedding was cancelled due to the latter's alleged adultery rather than just the cricketer’s father's health.

More fuel was added to the fire when netizens found out that Smriti had deleted multiple images of Palash from her Instagram profile. The video announcing the proposal, which featured Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav and Arundhati Reddy, was also taken down.

Soon afterwards, the screenshots which purportedly showed Palash flirting with another woman started making rounds. The person who posted the screeshots have reportedly said that she is not the choreographer Mary D'Costa.

According to reports, the wedding, which was to take place on November 23, was postponed after Smirit Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, experienced heart-attack-like symptoms on the morning of the wedding. He was taken to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli, and Smriti had postponed all her wedding preparations.

The incident also reportedly left Palash upset. His mother, who spoke to Hindustan Times, said that he shared a bond wth Smriti’s father, which made the incident emotionally overwhelming for him, and his health suddenly deteriorated. “He cried so much that his health suddenly deteriorated. They kept him in the hospital for four hours. He was given an IV drip, an ECG was done, and other tests were carried out. Everything came back normal, but he is under a lot of stress,” she said.
