Travis Head produced one of the greatest Ashes knocks of all time to hand Australia a crushing eight-wicket win against England in the first Ashes Test in Perth on Saturday (November 22). Head hammered 123 off just 83 balls to make a mockery of the target of 205 which appeared competitive due to the spicy nature of the pitch.

However, Head took the promotion to open the batting with aplomb, as he more than filled in for the injured Usman Khawaja at the top of the order. Head's superhuman efforts allowed Marnus Labuschagne to do his thing and the latter conjured a fifty of his own too. England, after a strong end to the first day, lost the plot from a strong position with the bat, as they collapsed in a heap.
