Manchester United’s new salary offer for Casemiro revealed! Wage cut means Brazilian will get THIS amount after contract extension

Casemiro is wanted by Saudi Arabia’s money-laden clubs, and it needs to be seen if he will agree to a paycheque that will earn him £120k–£150k a week to remain in the competitive European circuit with the FIFA World Cup fast approaching

Senior central defensive midfielder (CDM) Casemiro now stands a serious chance of earning a contract extension with Manchester United as Rúben Amorim is satisfied with his contributions to the team, reports said. If the former Real Madrid star is open to taking a pay cut, United may offer him a contract for another season, they added.

The five-time Champions League winner from Real Madrid arrived at Old Trafford for £60 million up front and add-ons in the tune of £10 million. 33-year-old Casemiro’s contract runs out at the end of the current season, but United possess an option to extend it for a further year. But, the club’s board was earlier hesitant to even consider him staying was the fact that he remains one of the highest-paid players in the side. The midfielder has seen ups and downs during his three-year stint at Old Trafford. However, he has showed more consistency this season for Amorim’s delight, and this has unlocked the door yet again for him, but only if he is willing to accept a pay cut.

Manchester United’s changing strategy and Casemiro

New co-owners INEOS are interested in the process of restructuring the club’s finances and have singled out reducing the wage bill as a focus area. They are also said to be disinterested in offering fresh contracts to ageing stars or signing veterans on long-term deals, since it could drain the club much more than investing on promising youngsters, CaughtOffside said in a report.

Thus, even with Rúben Amorim’s heavy backing, Casemiro will have to accept a substantial wage reduction if he is to stay post-summer as his salary is considered too big by INEOS, it added.

How much salary will Casemiro get if he stays?

While so much is already known for most hardcore fans, a fresh information has now been revealed by some of England’s high-profile football journalists. They claim to have learnt the sum that United is willing to offer Casemiro if they are to trigger the one-year extension clause. “We understand @ManUtd is willing to give new contract in the summer on £120k–£150k a week,” Football 365 reported the aforementioned sources as saying.

Casemiro had earlier said that his focus was on the current season alone and he was not immediately bothered by what lies ahead. It needs to be seen if he will decide to accept the new deal with offers from the cash-rich clubs from Saudi Arabia available in plenty.
