Kuldeep Yadav has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to release him from the squad after the ongoing Test match against South Africa in Kolkata. The second and final Test of the series starts in Guwahati from November 22 and if Kuldeep's request is approved by the BCCI, he would be unavailable for that fixture and a large part of the white-ball leg that follows.
The wrist spinner's request is due to his impending marriage that is scheduled in the last week of November. Therefore, the 30-year-old had asked for a few leaves in this regard. Kuldeep's marriage was initially fixed during the first half of 2025 but it had to be postponed due to the delays that occurred in the Indian Premier League season.
The BCCI will take feedback from India's team management regarding Kuldeep's leave window and how many days he would be allotted eventually.

“Kuldeep’s wedding is planned for the last week of Nov. The team management will assess when they will need his services before granting him the exact number of leaves,” a BCCI source said,” said a BCCI source as quoted by Times of India.
