Real Madrid transfers: Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson being tracked by Los Blancos for 2026

Elliot Anderson is one of the costliest midfield options available in the market and Real Madrid are nowhere close to including him in must-have targets for the future, despite an early interest, Spanish media reports showed

Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson has reportedly impressed Real Madrid, according to Spanish media. However, a formal bid for the 22-year-old is still considered distant as the Los Blancos have not yet completed their evaluation of the player.

Real Madrid's immediate focus remains on the development of existing young midfielders, Arda Güler and Jude Bellingham, both of whom are established in the squad but still have significant potential to unlock. The plan to bring in a new midfielder is confirmed, but any signing must complement the duo's natural game without affecting their development.

Anderson is currently being compared with a shortlist of other targets. Angelo Stiller, who was previously considered the choice to fill the void left by Toni Kroos, is still being tracked but is no longer the frontrunner. With Nico Paz also set to join from Como, Real Madrid will conduct several in-depth analyses before finalising any name.

The England international, who was also previously linked to Manchester United, is expected to cost at least €70 million. This price tag is a key factor forcing Real Madrid to adopt a cautious approach. If they ultimately decide to pursue Anderson, the European giants are highly likely to attempt to bring down the asking price, Fichajes reported.

Anderson's current deal with the Premier League club runs until 2029, which places Nottingham Forest in a strong negotiating position. It is reported that Anderson is unlikely to leave England before next summer, as Forest are determined to keep him for the rest of the season to see if his market price inflates further.
