Meanwhile, England have brushed aside their inconsistent form leading up to the tournament and are the only team apart from Australia to be unbeaten so far. Nat Sciver-Brunt's girls have three wins and a no-result from four games, and seem set for a semifinal spot.
In such a scenario, the India-England fixture in Indore on Sunday (October 19) is a high-stakes battle, especially for India who will be on the brink of elimination if they do not get a win here. Currently, England are on seven points from four games while India have four points from as many games.
What happens if India loses to England?
A win for England will ensure semifinal qualification and will make them the second side to book a semifinal spot after their arch-rivals Australia. England will have nine points from five games and India will remain stuck on four.
Then, India will have to win both their remaining games against New Zealand and Bangladesh. The India-New Zealand clash will be a virtual quarterfinal as the winner of this encounter will certainly progress to the semifinal.

What happens if India wins against England?
If India wins against England, it will mean that Harmanpreet Kaur's side will be in a much better position to book their spot in the semifinal. It would take them to six points from five games, and then one win from the remaining two games would lock their spot in the final four.
What happens if the game is tied or washed out?
If there is a washout or if the match gets tied, England would be assured of qualification as only one amongst India and New Zealand would be able to overtake them on points, and there is an India-New Zealand fixture left. India will then just need to beat New Zealand to book a semifinal spot.
