Robert Lewandowski is unlikely to get a new deal from FC Barcelona and once the Polish veteran moves on in the summer of 2026, the La Liga giants want to rope in Harry Kane as his replacement, a fresh report said. Interestingly, Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich in August 2023 from Tottenham Hotspur as the direct replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who had left for Barcelona in July 2022.

The 32-year-old England captain is in fine form and seems to show no signs of the age factor depleting his goal poaching skills. Barcelona's sporting director Deco is reportedly plotting to get Kane from Bayern as Hansi Flick rates him highly for his ability to fit perfectly into a system with vertical wingers and a reference number 9.

Barcelona are on the lookout for a splendid finisher with known leadership skills to succeed 37-year-old Lewandowski, reports had said. With Raphinha and Lamine Yamal in good form, they think there is no need to break the template of fitting a proven senior striker between them. However, what makes the hunt for Kane different is the fact that Deco is trying to include one more Bayern star as part of the deal.
According to reports, Barcelona are ready to break the bank to get Harry Kane and French centre-back Dayot Upamecano in one go, El Nacional said in a report. While Kane is seen as an immediate necessity, 26-year-old Upamecano is considered a long-term investment, the report added.

Bayern Munich are not a side that easily let their regular starters go in their prime and Barca reportedly had no delusions about the situation. They will make a lucrative offer to the Bavarians and hope the deal goes through, the report said. However, the defending Spanish champions are also considering if they can take a leaf out of their bitter rivals Real Madrid's tested model of getting the players as free agents. Upamecano's current deal runs until 30 June 2026 and the negotiations are progressing with the defender asking for a steep salary hike. Barca will attempt to convince him with Flick's project so that he will end contract extension talks with Bayern and join them as a free agent in 2026, the report said.
Kane's deal is valid until June 2027 and Barca have no way around it but to spend big. As things stand, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is also on board with the matter of presenting a stupendous offer for Bayern Munich for Harry Kane.
