Two consecutive finals and one trophy. Gujarat Titans might be among the youngest teams in the IPL but they are no pushovers. After Hardik Pandya left them to join Mumbai Indians, Young Turk Shubman Gill took over the side's reins. It was not a perfect start for the swashbuckling Indian batter as the team failed to make it into the playoffs under his leadership. Gill, who had scored a massive 890 runs during the 2023 season, managed only 426 runs after becoming the skipper. His strike rate dropped by 10 per cent from 157.70 to 147.40, IPL data show.

IPL 2025: Five Gujarat Titans players to watch out for this season
SHUBMAN GILL
Needless to say, the skipper comes first. Last season, Shubman Gill scored 426 runs in 12 innings for the Titans at a strike rate of 147.40. The captain's consistent performance at the top is going to be vital for the former champions who look to better last season's performance -- a 8th place finish.

Titans brought the English wicketkeeper batter for ₹15.75 crore, making him the most expensive overseas player of the season. The experienced campaigner, who is expected to open the innings alongside Gill, had amassed 359 runs at a 140.78 strike rate for Rajasthan last season and will look to get past the Champions Trophy blues with a memorable IPL season.
B SAI SUDARSHAN
527 in 12 matches at a strike rate of 141.28. His ton against the CSK (103 runs off 51 balls) and unbeaten 84 against RCB are just two of the many significant innings he played for GT last season. Sudharsan became the fastest Indian to reach 1,000 IPL runs, achieving this milestone in just 25 innings, convincing the team to retain him for ₹8.5 crore. A lot is expected of the 23-year-old as another IPL season is set to begin.

Rabada was acquired in the auction for ₹10.75 crore. He is coming after a good Champions Trophy outing for South Africa and an SA20 league triumph with the MI Cape Town. He will play a crucial role in the pace bowling department alongside Mohammed Siraj.

Gujarat Titans's "WEAPON X", yet again, is the "T20 GOAT" from Afghanistan. Rabada's skipper at MI Cape Town, Rashid was justifiably retained by Gujarat for his ability to control the middle overs and take crucial wickets. He has scored 545 runs in 60 IPL at a strike rate of 161.72, making him indispensable with the bat down the order as well.
