A match was abandoned in the Kreisliga C – the eighth division of German football – due to an unforeseen circumstance. If reports coming from Germany are to be believed, an "unforeseen circumstance" can't get stranger than this.

The child of one of the players who was preparing for the game ahead of kick-off bit the match referee in the genital area while he stepped out on the pitch for his pre-match checks. The toddler was reportedly playing in the field before he charged at the unsuspecting referee and "bit his left testicle."

According to reports, the incident was reported ahead of the Kreisliga C league match between FC Taxi Duisburg II and SV Rot-Weiss Mülheim last Sunday. The referee involved in the unfortunate incident was identified as Stefan Kahler by Sport Bible.

It was the child of one of the FC Taxi Duisburg players who bit the ref, who was unable to carry on due to intense pain, the report added. Since lower-division leagues are often played by amateur part-timers, they don't have the facilities that top-tier leagues offer. Thus, it is highly unlikely that a substitute referee was on standby to take Kahler's place.

According to Kehler, he had noticed the child who was imitating the warm-up exercises being done by the FC Taxi Duisburg players. As he proceeded to check the ID cards of the players, the kid started getting closer to him before biting him without any warning.

However, there was no information on Kahler's current condition.
