South Africa spinner Imran Tahir's sprinting celebration is famous in the cricketing world. The late bloomer celebrating important scalps by ridiculously running around the cricket field as his teammates tried to catch up was a delight to watch.
Believe it or not Tahir, at 44, is still active. When Joburg Super Kings (JSK) met Paarl Royals (PR) for the 2024 SA20 Eliminator game on Thursday, the veteran spinner was among the players to take the field. Donning the famous Yellow colours of the Super Kings outfit, Tahir made news by picking up a scintillating catch.
Tahir, who was fielding inside the 30-yard box as part of the PowerPlay restrictions ran back after Royals batter Mitchell Van Buuren skied a Sam Cook delivery in the third over of the innings. Tahir caught hold of the ball as he came crashing down.
The video of the spectacular catch showed Imah Tahir hitting football great Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic "Siuu" celebration after breaking free of his teammates.

"Age is nothing but a number," the SA20 rightly captioned the video of Tahir's catch on its official X (formely Twitter) handle.
Apart from his sharpness on the field, the veteran spinner contributed with the ball as well. Imran Tahir finished his quota of four overs by picking two wickets for JSK (4.0-0-33-2-8.25). He sent back Royals captain David Miller (47 off 40) before cleaning up Imaad Fortuin for a golden duck. JSK managed to bundle out the Royals for 138 in 18.5 overs.
