The Chennai Super Kings captain reportedly accused the men of opening cricket academies and taking money from people by misusing the name of Dhoni without his knowledge.

Here are 6 things to know about the development.

1. According to media reports, MS Dhoni had moved court against his former business associates Mihir Diwakar and Soma Das of Arka Sports and Management Limited.

2. It was at the Ranchi Civil Court that the former Indian captain approached with the suit. The case has been reportedly filed under Sections 406, 420, 468, 471 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code

3. According to MS Dhoni's complaint, Arka Sports and Management Limited did not follow the conditions of an agreement signed in 2017. This caused him to suffer losses worth Rs 15 crore, The New Indian Express said in a report.

4. According to the agreement between the two parties, the company would open cricket academies in his name and pay the franchisee fee.

5. After making some initial payments, Soma Das and Mihir Diwakar stopped sharing information and financial dividends with the cricketer. This forced Dhoni to revoke the authority given to them on August 15, 2021,  the daily reported MSD's lawyer Dayanand Singh as saying.

6. MSD filed a legal notice to the company as they opened multiple cricket academies in different places using his name to lure the masses without his knowledge or permission. Finally, a criminal case was filed at the civil court in Ranchi by advocate Simant Lohani, the report said.
