Kerala Blasters have never lost a game after leading in the first half. It was not to be any different on Sunday, as they outpowered a depleted Mumbai City FC --- in the Indian Super League (ISL).

Star striker Dimitrios Diamantakos was once again on target for the home team, while Kwame Peprah scored the second goal. The Ghanese forward, an absolute workhorse at Kochi throughout the game, earned the assist of Diamantakos's goal in the eleventh minute, before putting one in himself at 45+5.

The ever-enthusiastic Kochi crowd was at its aggressive best, jeering and provoking the Mumbai City players regularly. The Manjappada cheered their players wholeheartedly every time one of them made a notable move on the field.

KBFC's defence line led by Marko Leskovic proved impenetrable for the Mumbai squad, who missed a few of their regular starters to suspension.

Mumbai enjoyed 65% ball possession and completed 527 passes against KBFC's 291. The visitors also fired 11 shots but only one was on target. On the other hand, three of Blasters's 10 shots were on goal. The win took KBFC's tally to 23 points from 11 games, only behind leaders FC Goa (23 points from 9), while MCFC are fourth with 19 points from 10 games.
