It's official! Uruguay great Luis Suarez has officially signed for Major League Soccer (MLS) side Inter Miami -- reuniting him with a number of his former FC Barcelona teammates including Lionel Messi.

"Welcome Luis Suarez, to the dream of Miami," Inter Miami posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, confirming his arrival.

Suarez, who spearheaded Brazilian Serie A side Gremio's attack, was long-rumoured to sign a deal with the MLS side co-owned by David Beckham. Messi and Suarez alongside Brazilian Neymar Jr once formed a fearsome attacking unit in Barcelona. The trio was fondly called "MSN" in footballing circles

Apart from the Argentina captain, awaiting Suarez at Inter Miami former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. All three of them (including Messi) were the veteran striker's teammates at the Catalan side when they completed the treble apart from winning four LaLiga titles in five years. 

For Brazilian side Gremio, Suarez scored 26 goals and provided 17 assists in all competitions, leading the team to two trophies this year. "I'm very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami. I can't wait to get started, and I'm ready to work to make the dream of winning more titles with this great club a reality," Suarez said in a statement.

Suarez, 36, first made a splash in Europe with Ajax Amsterdam before making the switch to Premier League side Liverpool where he scored 82 goals. But it was at Barcelona where he was most successful when he scored 195 goals and made 113 assists. He then made a switch to rivals Atletico Madrid, where he continued to impress and led the team to a La Liga title. In all, he has scored more than 500 senior goals for club and country in a career spanning nearly two decades.
