Veteran cricketer Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha Afridi got married to Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi on Tuesday for the second time. Shahid Afridi, on the occasion, penned an emotional note and shared it on the social media platform X.
Shaheen and Ansha got married in an intimate nikah ceremony in February 2023. The couple, however, were eager to celebrate with extended family and friends, and hence held a lavish ceremony, which included a rukhsati (seeing off) ceremony-- it was held in Karachi. The walima (wedding feast/reception) will be held in Islamabad on September 21.
The event, which took place against a lavish backdrop, included noted guests including batsman Babar Azam, former captain Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Tanveer Ahmed, and Sohail Khan.

In the note he shared on X, Pakistan's former all-rounder wrote, “Aya tha ghar main noor abhi kal ki baat hai; Rukhsat bhi ho raha hai wo ankhon kay saamney; Dooba hua bhi hai terey baba ka dil magar; Umeed subh-e-nau isey ayi hai thamney."
Along with the note, he posted a picture that shows him along with his daughter and son-in-law. Ansha can be seen wearing an opulent red outfit with gold zardozi embroidery and sequin work.
