Veteran cricketer Irfan Pathan on Thursday hit out against actress Kangana Ranaut's hate mongering on social media. Slamming the actress for her posts spreading hatred, Pathan said that his tweets were either for humanity or for his countrymen.

"All my tweets are either for humanity or countrymen, from a point of view of a guy who has represented India at the highest level. On the contrary, counters I get from people like Kangna who’s account get dismissed by spreading hate n some other paid accounts are only about hate (sic)," Pathan tweeted in response to Ranaut sharing a screenshot of a UP BJP MLA's tweet questioning the former's patriotism on Instagram.

The legislator Dinesh Choudhary had on Wednesday posted that "if Irfan Pathan loves his country so much, what made him not put a single tweet on West Bengal violence", which was shared by Ranaut in one of her stories on Instagram. Following the flaring Israel-Palestine tensions, Pathan had, on Tuesday, tweeted in support of the Muslim state. "If you have even slightest of humanity you will not support what’s happening in #Palestine #SaveHumanity," he had tweeted. It was this tweeted that prompted reactions from the likes of Choudhary and Ranaut.

The actress, who has been permanently suspended from Twitter, has been actively sharing several stories on her Instagram handle in support of Israel in its ongoing clashes with Palestine.
