Mumbai City right back Amey Ranawade, who had suffered a concussion during the Indian Super League (ISL) final against ATK Mohun Bagan, had a pleasant surprise when Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, in a video message, wished him speedy recovery.
Guardiola congratulated Ranawade and Mumbai City for the ISL win saying they deserved it. "I hear that you had a concussion, you are in hospital. Hopefully, you recover as soon as possible...stay safe, stay well, and I wish you all the best," he said in the video message.
Posting the video message on Twitter, Ranawade wrote: “Feels incredible to get a message from the legendary Pep Guardiola! Thank you Pep and everyone at the @ManCity group and @MumbaiCityFC for this.”

Earlier, in a tweet, Ranawade had said he was touched by the gesture of his team holding his jersey during the celebration. "Congratulations to my team and my teammates for clinching the title! I'm touched by the sweet gesture of them holding my jersey during the celebration. Special mention to medical staff and the doctors for helping me on the field and in the hospital. God above all," he wrote.

Ranawade had suffered an injury after colliding with ATK Mohun Bagan's Subhasish Bose while going for a sliding tackle, in the stoppage time of the first half.
Mumbai City FC had won their maiden ISL title with a 2-1 victory over ATK Mohun Bagan in the final on Saturday.
