The International Cricket Council came out with a unique way to mark ‘Star Wars Day’ on Monday with a video titled ‘May The Fours Be With You’. Star Wars Day, which celebrates the saga, is observed on May 4, for the pun (May the Fourth) on the catchphrase ‘May the Force be with you’ which is extensively used in the franchise.

Tagging #StarWarsDay, the ICC’s Twitter account posted the video which showed top cricketers hitting fours with lightsabers instead of cricket bats. In the 52-second video, cricketers including England’s Jos Buttler, India captain Virat Kohli, West Indies hard-hitter Chris Gayle and Thailand women’s cricketer Nattakan Chantham are seen hitting some brilliant shots that are made even more entertaining with the sound of a lightsaber “buzzing” as the ball makes contact.

Cricket fans and Star Wars followers are tickled by the video, with many praising the creativity behind the work. Some focused on the beautiful strokes by the cricketers and some wondered why some of their favourite batsmen were not featured.
