Cristiano Ronaldo is first Instagram user to cross 200 million followers

Youth icon and star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first Instagram user to cross 2 million followers. "Wow 200 million!!! Thank you to each and every one of you for sharing this journey with me every day!!'' said the footballer in a video thanking his fans for the milestone. 

The social media platform Instagram, that allows you to share images and videos itself has around 330 million users. 

Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's annual soccer salary is $34 million. His total yearly earnings are $47.8 million, with the rest coming from brand endorsements and sponsored Instagram posts.

Captain of the Portugal national team earns a whopping 900,000 euros (approximately $1 million) for every sponsored post he makes. 

According to a report, Brazilian football star Neymar makes a whooping £425,000 (approximately $552,300) per sponsored post on Instagram. 

Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi, who has about 140 million followers, was the second-highest earner in Instagram with him raking in $23.3million.
