India declared their second innings at 323/4 and set a target of 395 runs for South Africa on Day 4 of their first Test in Visakhapatnam on Satturday.
Earlier, South Africa was bowled out for 431 in 131.2 overs in their first innings reply to India's 502 for 7 declared on the fourth day morning of the opening Test at Vishakapatnam on Saturday.
Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took seven wickets and South Africa was trailing by 171 runs.
