Rishabh Pant and Australia captain Tim Paine have exchanged quite a few words during the ongoing India-Australia Test series. However, an adorable social media post has made it clear that the series, though has seen some intense moments, is being played in good spirits.

The Australian captain's wife, Bonnie Paine, posted a story on her Instagram account that showed Pant holding Paine's son during an event at the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison's residence. Alongside the story, Bonnie Paine tagged Pant and wrote 'Best babysitter'. The reference to this being that Paine, in the middle of an on-field banter, had asked the Indian if he would babysit his kids while he took his wife out for a movie

In the recent Boxing Day Test, which India won by 137 runs, keepers Pant and Paine were constantly trying to get under each others' skin with an onslaught of words.

Referring to Pant's exclusion from the ODI squad, the Australian captain said: “Big MS (Dhoni) is back in the one-day squad, too. We might get him (Pant) down to the (Hobart) Hurricanes. We need a batter. Fancy that, Pantsy? Extend your little Aussie holiday. Beautiful town Hobart, too. I'll get you a nice apartment on the waterfront. (I'll) have him over for dinner. Can you babysit? (I'll) take the wife to the movies one night and you'll look after the kids.”

However, Paine received a dose of the his own medicine when he came to the crease and Pant was heard speaking to Mayank Agarwal: “We got a special guest today. Have you ever heard of a temporary captain, ever, Mayank?” Pant continued to mock Paine by saying all he did was talk.

But Pant's lovely gesture, as is evident in Bonnie Paine's Instagram story, goes a long way to show that their on-field humourous banter remains just that. Who would have thought that Pant would actually turn up as the “best babysitter” for the Australian captain's kids?
