West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the series decider at Thiruvananthapuram. This is the first time that the visitors have won the toss in this series.

India are leading the five-match ODI series 2-1, with one game ending in a tie. The hosts will be looking to wrap the series with a win.

Skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been in great form, having scored three consecutive centuries and two centuries respectively. Ambati Rayudu also displayed his fine batting skills in the fourth ODI in Mumbai with a well-deserved century.

Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are also expected to fire up the bowling attack for India. Young pacer Khaleel Ahmed displayed an impressive bowling spell in the Mumbai ODI.

West Indies have performed well in the ODI series except for the fourth ODI when they were trounced by 224 runs. They had registered their first win in the series when they defeated India in the third ODI in Pune.

The Windies will look forward to levelling the series as they take on a confident India in the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Captain Holder will be hoping that the team improves collectively to snatch a win and deny India a series triumph.

The last ODI that was played here was between the same sides in 1988, and the West Indies team, then led by Vivian Richards, had beaten India.
