Badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Paruppalli Kashyap are ready to tie the knot. According to reports, Saina and Kashyap's families have set the date for December 16.
Saina and Kashyap met when they started training at Pullela Gopichand's academy in 2005. The couple have reportedly been in a relationship for the past decade. However, Saina and Kashyap never confirmed or denied it.
Kashyap, has always referred to Saina as a friend and practice partner. It was Saina's public mention of Kashyap's role after she won the Commonwealth Games singles gold that raised curiosity of others. She openly praised Kashyap for motivating her throughout the tournament and posted pictures along with Kashyap on her social media platform.
Saina has won 20 major titles, including an Olympic bronze and a silver at the World Championships. Kashyap also proved himself worthy in the men's circuit by being ranked world no.6 at one point.
The last popular badminton couple to get married was former Indian number one Chetan Anand and women's doubles player Jwala Gutta but are currently divorced.
