With India and Pakistan gearing up for the much-awaited cricket match between the neighbouring nations, here's a story of brotherhood and warm relations across the border. For cricket fans in India and across the world, Sudhir Krishna is a popular face.

It's quite easy to spot Krishna at India's limited over games. Sporting a torso painted in tri-colour with the word 'Tendulkar' written across, and a huge Indian flag waving high, he is an iconic fixture, a fan of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

However, Krishna had almost given up travelling to the UAE for the Asia Cup for lack of funds. That's when Bashir Chacha stepped in. Chacha, popularly known as Pakistan Chacha, can be rightly called Krishna's counterpart from India's rival neighbour. After coming to know that Sudhir’s plans to travel were in jeopardy, Chacha decided to extend a helping hand. “It’s pure love. You know money will come and go with Allah’s grace. I told Sudhir to come here, and I would take care of everything. I am not a rich person but my heart is as big as an ocean. If I help you, Allah will be happy,” Bashir Chacha was quoted by sports portal Xtratime.

"I arranged my visa and Chacha sent me the return flight tickets. Now, I am here to cheer my team. Chacha is taking care of all my expenses,” said Krishna.

With hours to go before the first ball of India-Pakistan Asia Cup clash, both Krishna and Chacha are hopeful that their respective teams will not let them down.

The match will commence at 5pm on Wednesday.
