Tennis star Roger Federer maybe fearless on court as he destroys opponents and rakes in the trophies, but out in the wild, it's a whole different ball game. Sweating it out in the wild, eating fish eye-balls and dropping down into gorges in the Swiss Alps, Federer will be seen with wilderness-survival and adventure show host Bear Grylls in the new Discovery series Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

In the new series, which premieres on September 20, Grylls tests the survival skills of celebrities as he takes them along on challenging journeys in the wilderness. In this particular episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, the celebrity survivalist takes Federer on a hike in the Swiss Alps.

“From up here, these mountains are spectacular,” says Grylls. “But once you get on the ground, these towering cliffs and dense forests are a force to be reckoned with! Roger Federer better be ready for a match like never before!”

“I might look like a tough guy on the tennis courts, but I’m actually very scared of a lot of things in life. There’s gonna be scary moments for me, so just hold my hand!” Federer tells Grylls.

Roger Federer and Bear Grylls are, at one point, seen picking up a half-eaten fish from a partially frozen lake as the Man vs. Wild host observes that though there's not a lot to eat out of it, they can eat the eye-balls. He then carves out the eye-balls and hands one to a grossed-out Federer, who eats it.

“I always see these TV shows, of these people eating those crazy things. I’m like, I will never, ever, ever do it,” Federer says.

“I believe it shows another side to a person people might know. With me, maybe they see this very focused, strong tennis player, who never cracks under pressure, and it's all nonsense. At the end of the day, we're all the same,” Federer says. “We all have our fears and I'm very scared of many things, especially when it comes to doing adventurous stuff. ” The celebrity survivalist and tennis ace then proceed to rappel down a frozen waterfall.

Toward the end of the episode, Grylls asks the tennis great if he would indulge the host in a game of mini ping-pong. What follows is an epic match between the 20-time grand slam champion and the celebrity survivalist (who had been practising every night for months!) amidst the Swiss Alps. Grylls gave Federer a run for his money, but the star tennis player eventually fought back and won the game.
