Romania’s Razvan “RvPLegend” Puiu produced one of Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026’s standout stories, beating Levy “levyfinn” Rieck 6-5 in a nail-biting grand final to win the Diogo Jota FC Pro World Championship in EA FC 26.
Having started the tournament ranked 30th, Puiu’s title run vaulted him to 4th in the global standings and earned him $250,000 (around ₹2.3 crore) from the game’s $1,000,000 prize pool, part of EWC’s wider $75 million prize fund across 25 tournaments.
Speaking after his win, Puiu said he was overwhelmed, adding that “I will just still try to play my game and just try to be the best version of me I can.”
In PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, Russian‑rooted organisation Virtus.pro were nearly untouchable across three days of competition, topping the 16-team field with 126 points by the end of day two and coasting to the title without needing to risk an early finish under the match‑point rule.
Their triumph brought a $650,000 prize and 1,000 Club Championship points, while teammate Nino “NIXZYEE” Mikec was named SONY MVP after averaging 21 minutes and 21 seconds of survival time, along with 33 finishes and 32 knockdowns, earning an extra $25,000.
Team Vision completed a perfect run through Teamfight Tactics, sweeping Aurora Gaming 3-0 in the grand final after climbing back from an early lower-bracket defeat to Flash Wolves.
The win, worth $150,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points, saw captain Yan “Flancy” Lingyu take home the SONY MVP award, which he said belonged to “everyone on my team.”
With three of the tournament’s seven weeks now complete, the battle for the $30 million Club Championship is intensifying.
Ukrainian outfit NAVI lead with 2,250 points, followed by Virtus.pro on 1,950 and hosts Team Vitality on 1,800, while Team Vision’s Teamfight Tactics win and Apex Legends runner-up finish have pushed them into fourth place.
Two-time defending champions Team Falcons, however, sit sixth on 1,300 points and are yet to win a single title this year, keeping alive one of the tournament’s biggest storylines as EWC 2026 heads into its final stretch in Paris before concluding on August 23.
