Earlier this week, Microsoft went all-guns-blazing for the XBOX Games Showcase, putting a lot on the line after what has been a tough run over the past year.
As a part of the XBOX maker’s gradual return to glory under CEO Asha Sharma, more than 25 trailers for various games were shown at the event, in addition to the XBOX Series X25, a limited-edition console that properly pays homage to the brand’s 25-year legacy.
Here are seven major games featured at the Showcase:
Senua
This surprise reveal at the show will be a major addition to the Hellblade universe in 2027, made by the BAFTA-winning Ninja Theory.
Set after the events of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, the game offers a range of new weapons and special focus abilities to aid the Celtic warrior's attempts to fight her way into the afterlife.
Gears of War: E-Day
This brand new title was one of the stars of the Games Showcase, scheduled for October 6 this year.
While the XBOX event offered a thrilling world-premiere gameplay demo for the upcoming title from The Coalition, the special event delved deeper into the terror of E-Day.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond
"I think I smell a barbecue!"
Indeed, after nearly 20 years, Toys for Bob is again cooking up an original Spyro game, featuring Tom Kenny at the helm of the voice cast.
The iconic purple dragon will return in spring 2027 for a brand-new adventure with expanded exploration and gameplay innovations, including true dragon flight, which allows players to freely soar through the game’s environments.
DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations
This campaign expansion for DOOM: The Dark Ages was another of the most awaited reveals at the event, set to release on July 7.
Equipped with the all-new Chain Spear, the DOOM Slayer come face-to-face with haunting truths in Revelations, while taking on deeper puzzles, fearsome demons, and intriguing mysteries.
Persona 6
Lucky fans of the Persona series got not one, but two major reveals at the event.
The first was a trailer for the highly anticipated Persona 6, touted as a "bold new standalone story", while the second was the trailer for Persona 4 Revival, a remake of a remake of Persona 4, expected to release on February 2027.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember
The Ninja Gaiden series makers are back with the sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, arriving early in 2027.
Set after the evennts of the first title in a fictional world based on the late Eastern Han period of Chinese history, this brutal action RPG sees you play an unnamed champion fighting against humans and demons across vast battlefields.
Minecraft Dungeons II
This hit from Mojang Studios sees you ditch the pickaxe for a sword again to take on an all-new threat to the Overworld from September 27 onwards.
Apart from unexplored lands and mysterious locations, the exclusive trailer at the event showed fans new environments, tougher enemies—such as the terrifying Twisted Warden—and more cool ways to customise characters.
