Anthropic's AI chatbot Claude AI is experiencing service disruptions, with hundreds of users reporting access issues on Tuesday.
The Downdetector website recorded a steep rise in disruptions to access to the site at around 11 am across multiple regions.
The data also reports that the complaints surged at around 2:30 pm to more than 320.
The graph showed that the complaints rose rapidly, indicating a widespread issue.
Users reported disruptions across Claude's website platform, mobile application, API services and developer tools. The issues left users unable to generate responses, access conversations, and complete tasks.
According to Downdetector data, the majority of affected users reported being unable to access Claude chat. About 62 per cent of users said they had issues with Claude chat, with 17 per cent reporting issues with the app and 15 per cent reporting issues with the website.
Anthropic, the company behind the AI platform, confirmed the outage and said that its teams were working on investigating the issue.
In a later update, the company confirmed that it had identified the root cause and said that it was working on a fix.
Users took to social media to check whether others were facing similar issues with the platform. Many also shared screenshots showing failed prompts and error notifications.
Meanwhile, Antropic also announced that it submitted a draft S-1 statement to the US Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of the company's common stock. The proposal allows the company to go public after the SEC completes the review.
The number of shares which will be offered and the prices have not been set yet.
