OnePlus to launch $200 entry-level phone dubbed ‘Clover’: Report

Planned phone could be the rumoured OnePlus Lite

As the market for budget smartphones heats up, OnePlus is reportedly aiming an “imminent” launch of an entry-level smartphone priced around $200 (Rs 14,649). News that the company was planning another affordable smartphone, speculated to be the OnePlus Nord Lite, had been doing the rounds.

Now, Android Central reported an insider source to confirm the plan, which would see a Snapdragon 460-powered 720p device launched in global markets.

Accoridng to Android central, the phone, codenamed Clover, will have a 6.5” 720p IPS LCD display with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It will come with a fingerprint sensor, a microSD slot and a triple-camera layout on the back. A 6,000 mAh battery will also reportedly be included, with 18W fast-charging support.

It will also come with a headphone jack, in keeping with other phones in this segment.

OnePlus has yet to respond to the report.

This, after the company launched the Nord to much fanfare, which fits in the entry premium and midrange category.

Other phones powered by the Snapdragon 460 include the Oppo A53, the Nokia 3.4, the Moto E7 Plus, VIVO Y20.
