In a bid to make property registration and related transactions seamless, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) has officially launched Oqood 2.0.
This will serve as an umbrella for all kinds of property registration, including checking requirements, uploading documents, submitting applications, reviewing requests and receiving approvals.
The highlight of the platform is, however, its pre-registration system, which helps customers understand what information and documents they need before submitting a property transaction.
It also has a series of questions which will help the customer go through procedures easily. Based on their answers, Oqood 2.0 identifies the requirements for the transaction and guides customers through the next steps.
The system can use information already available to automatically fill in some details, thereby doing away with redundancy for customers.
After an application is submitted, customers can track its progress through the platform. They can see whether the request is under review, whether more information or documents are required, or whether the application has been approved.
Mostafa Mohammed Refai, Senior Project Manager at the Digital Transformation Department, said the initiative is designed to change the way people interact with government services. He said the system is intended to give users more time, focus and confidence by allowing technology to handle repetitive processes and guide customers through the requirements of each transaction.
Oqood 2.0 also keeps a record of each stage of a request. This provides a clearer history of actions and decisions during the transaction. It can also help identify delays and allow customers to respond faster when additional documents or information are required.
