Weeks after it aired a video containing information about the movements of US First Lady Melania Trump titled ‘Where would you kill Melania?’, Iranian state TV has repeated the threat towards US President Donald Trump’s son Barron Trump too.
A video segment aired on state television on the efforts involved to reach Barron and has been titled ‘Where to kill Barron Trump?’. The footage showed locations and online platforms purportedly associated with the effort and depicted attempts to map social connections around the president’s son and penetrate layers of Secret Service protection.
In the end of the segment, the narrator asserts “many would be willing” to take the $10 million reward connected to efforts targeting Barron Trump. The video ends with a direct warning to the president's son: "Barron Trump, wait for us!"
The Secret Service said it was aware of the threatening material and investigates threats against those under its protection.
Though much of the information aired, using dramatic graphics, is unlikely to be authentic, the airing of the footage on state TV shows how Iran has been using such threats as political rhetoric during war.
The video of Melania, released almost three weeks ago, had shown documents related to Melania Trump’s whereabouts and the nature of her activities, noting that this information came from several unidentified security networks.
The video focused on the places the US First Lady visits, including the stores she frequents, noting that her interest in fashion and clothing represents a “weak point.” The video also mentioned the names and addresses of luxury stores.
There was also information about the security measures surrounding Melania Trump, the code name used for her, as well as the names of her hairdressers and clothing designers, in addition to details regarding evacuation routes from the hospital.
