Following the funeral of late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khmamenei, his son and current Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed to avenge his father's killing. Now a local newspaper has released the list 13 world leaders who named in the kill list.
"Vengeance is the will of our nation and must inevitably be carried out. These criminals, whose names appear on a list, will take to their graves the wish of a peaceful death in their beds," stated Mojtaba Khamenei. However, he did not name any leaders.
Hamshahri, a newspaper owned by Tehran city authorities, published an AI-generated graphic showing the high-profile targets. Unsurprisingly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump were the first two names in the list. This list is, however, not officially endorsed by the Iran leadership.
European leaders like British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni were also included in the revenge list.
Other than Netanyahu, Israeli leaders including Foriegn Minister Gideon Saar, Defence Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir were among the targets.
Apart from Trump, key US leaders involved in the war, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, US Central Command Commander Brad Cooper and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee were also named.
This comes after reports claimed that Iran was planning to assassinate Trump. CNN reported that there was a "steady drumbeat" of intelligence about death theats against Trump, including a "specific" assassination plot uncovered by Israeli agencies.
