JEE Main 2024: How to apply, important dates, exam details and points to remember

JEE Main 2024 If candidates submit multiple application forms, their exam results will be canceled

National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the application process for JEE Main 2024 Session 1. The first session of the exam will be held in January-February while the second session will be held in April.

How to apply?

  • Go to JEE Main 2024 official website: jeemain.nta.ac.in.

  • Click on JEE Main 2024 registration link next to Latest News section in the home page: JEE(Main) 2024 Registration open (Click Here).

  • If you have not registered earlier, click on New Candidates Register Here|

  • Download Information Bulletin and then agree to the terms and conditions.

  • Sign up by entering your Digilocker ID or Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID.

  • You can also use PAN, Passport (Indian and non-Indian) or Aadhaar enrolment numbers to log in. However, if you will have to report to the exam centre one hour before the examinations begins in the absence of a Digilocker or ABC ID,

  • Fill up the application form and choose your exam centres.

  • Upload photo (10-200KB) and signature (4-30KB) in jpeg format.

  • Pay application fees and click on Submit.

  • Download the page for future reference.

Important dates for Session 1

  • Last date to submit application form: November 30, 2023, up to 9pm

  • Last date to pay application fee: November 30, 2023, up to 11.50pm

  • Announcement of the city of examination: January second week

  • Downloading Admit Cards from NTA website: 3 days before examination date

  • Examination dates: January 24 to February 1, 2024

  • Exam results: February 12, 2024

Important dates for Session 2

  • Last date to submit application form: February 2 to March 2, 2024, up to 9pm

  • Last date to pay application fee: March 2, 2024, up to 11.50pm

  • Announcement of the city of examination: March third week

  • Downloading Admit Cards from NTA website: 3 days before examination date

  • Examination dates: April 1 to 15, 2024

  • Exam results: April 25, 2024

Application fee

Application fee varies from Rs 500 to Rs 10,000 depending on the exam, candidate's reservation category and gender as well as the examination centres (India and abroad). Download the information bulletin from the official website for more details.

Exam duration

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): 3 hours

Paper 2A (B.Arch): 3 hours

Paper 2B (B.Planning): 3 hours

B.Arch. & B.Planning (both): 3 hours 30 minutes

Important things to remember

  • Candidates must fill in the Application Form carefully. No corrections will be permitted once it is submitted.

  • Candidates should not submit multiple Application Forms. It will lead to the cancellation of exam results.

  • Candidate must write their Full Name as printed on the certificate/marksheet of Class 10/equivalent examination. Otherwise the form will be rejected.

  • Candidates can pay fee via UPI, net banking, debit card or credit card. They may have to pay processing charges and GST as applicable.

  • Candidates who do not wish to register through DigiLocker ID or ABC ID should report to the examination centre one hour before the exam begins.

  • Candidates should visit the official NTA Website and check emails regularly for the updates.

  • Candidates can appear in JEE Main 2024 Session 1, 2 or both. For those who appear in both sessions, the best score will reflect in the final result.
