In a major allegation, Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday claimed that the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which has been spearheading youth protests in Delhi and several other states, was receiving financial support from anti-India NGOs and organisations based abroad.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Singh claimed that authorities had concrete evidence indicating that the CJP and its leaders were receiving funds from US-based donors and Pakistani politicians.

“There is enough evidence to show that they are being funded by unauthorised sources, by anti-India NGOs, and anti-India organisations within and outside the country,” he said.

“The foreign-funded NGOs, deep state operatives and anti-India forces are manufacturing this narrative. Abhijeet Dipke has been receiving funds from US-based donors, Ashutosh Ranka, paid by Pakistani politicians," he added.

The CJP, however, rejected the allegations, describing them as a reflection of the state of public discourse when a Union Minister makes such claims without accountability.

“A Union Minister can say anything and get away with it. This is precisely why even the words of those occupying the highest chairs hold no value today,” the party said in a post on X.

Singh's allegations come amid the BJP's accusations that the Opposition Congress is receiving financial support from foreign organisations to fuel an anti-government narrative.

Responding to the allegations, Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge challenged the BJP to produce evidence substantiating its claims. He also dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in an open debate on the issue, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat serving as moderator.

“If the BJP, including the Home Minister, is saying that Congress is being funded by foreign agencies and they're not able to produce a shred of paper or a shred of evidence, this shows the competence level of Amit Shah, EAM Jaishankar and RAW. What is the IB doing? What is RAW doing? On what basis are these comments being made?” Kharge asked.
