A man was killed in broad daylight in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Thursday after he was reportedly chased by a car and later beaten with a hockey stick. The entire assault was captured on CCTV.

The incident took place near Bajrang Chowk in the N-7 area of CIDCO, while the victim was riding back home on a scooter. The victim, Devesh Dixit, also known as Bunty Dixit, was returning from the gym when a car suddenly hit him from behind.

Dixit was thrown onto the busy road, and the impact caused his scooter to skid across the road. CCTV footage shows people running towards Dixit as the accused stepped out of the vehicle with a hockey stick and an iron rod. The accused attacked Dixit with the weapons, repeatedly striking his head and face. Dixit died on the spot of the attack.

The CCTV visuals show the accused travelling in a white Volkswagen car. According to media reports, the accused is Pawan Parashar. Subsequently, after the attack, Parashar is seen running back to the car. He reportedly went directly to the CIDCO police. The police reportedly seized his car and the iron rod used in the assault.

Parashar is expected to be produced before a court on Friday. The court proceeding will mark the next step in the case as the police investigation continues.

Dispute between Dixit and Parashar?

Dixit reportedly ran a mess and was also involved in the plotting business. Local media reports indicate that he and Parashar had disagreements in the past. An old rivalry or a possible business dispute are among the potential motives being considered in connection with the killing. However, the motive behind the attack or whether the dispute directly led to Thursday’s attack has not been established.
