A 36-year old man named Gopal from Faridabad was killed on Thursday after his wife and her lover allegedly slashed open his neck with a kitchen knife.
The incident took place in Shyam Colony, Faridabad city, on Thursday night when Gopal’s wife, Kajal and their children came from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh to visit him in the city. Kajal’s lover, Yogender, had also accompanied them.
Gopal, who was under the influence of alcohol, reached back late at night to Kajal’s relatives' house. After he fell asleep, Kajal allegedly slashed his throat with a kitchen knife. Gopal died on the spot due to severe bleeding.
She later attempted to mislead the police and registered a complaint claiming that her husband was attacked by assailants. However, Kajal admitted that she committed the murder with the help of Yogender.
The police then registered a murder case and arrested both of them.
According to the complaint filed by Bhoora, Gopal’s brother, there was an ongoing dispute over Kajal’s acquaintance and her alleged relationship with Yogendra. Bhoora alleged that both of them killed his brother.
Local media reported that Gopal, a native of Kundawarpur in Hathras, was a machine operator at a private company in Faridabad for the past 20 years. Around 16 years ago, he met Kajal at the same company and fell in love with her.
Kajal, who was already married and had a five-year-old daughter, left her husband and legally married Gopal in court. The couple has two sons and a daughter. While Kajal and the children stay in Hathras, Gopal works in Faridabad.
Three years ago, a man named Yogender, who lived near the couple’s house in Hathras, started visiting their house frequently. However, the couple had serious arguments over Yogender visiting the house when Gopal was in Faridabad. Gopal has reportedly not visited the village for the past few months. Kajal allegedly feared Gopal would kill her and hatched a plan with Yogender to murder him.
