Hours after three accused in the attack on Tiger Shroff were captured on Monday, the Mumbai Police clarified that none of them were minors, and were all aged 18-22.
"Two accused are from Haryana, and one is from Bihar. Two of the three arrested assailants had fired five to six rounds at Tiger Shroff's car," explained DCP Raj Tilak Roshan.
The three have been identified as Phool Singh and Rehan from Haryana's Sonipat area, and Hrithik Kumar (alias Roshan) from Bihar's Begusarai area. Their motorcycle has been recovered from the Andheri area, but the police have not yet found the gun they used to shoot at Tiger Shroff's car.
DCP Roshan added that the motive behind the Sunday attack on the Bollywood actor was still unclear, due to which they are being questioned further.
The three were arrested on Monday morning in a swift 15-minute operation by the Kota Police, which laid waste to their alleged plans to escape to Nepal from Mumbai after carrying out the attack attempt reportedly orchestrated by the Bishnoi gang.
While Shroff escaped unscathed, his driver and a bystander were injured, after which alleged Bishnoi gang members Anil Pandit put out a voice message claiming responsibility for the attack, and warning Shroff—and everyone in Bollywood—not to work with Salman Khan.
Amid the probe into the three accused, the mother of Hrithik has denied that her son was among those accused.
"My son lives in Mumbai, and although the name matches, my son is not that person. We are searching for him, and I request you media people to help search for him as well," his mother, Sanyukta Devi, told reporters.
She added that his family had not been able to reach him since Sunday, as his phone was switched off.
However, she also alleged that if her son were indeed found guilty, then he was a victim of a conspiracy by either his friends, or the relatives of the girl he was about to marry.
