The husband of Telangana YouTuber Vaishnavi was killed by unidentified assailants in Nizamabad on Thursday. The victim, Chittari Haribabu, was accused of the murder of his four-month-pregnant wife, who was found dead on March 17 in Korutala of Jagtia district.
Hari had recently secured bail in the case.
According to preliminary information, Hari, 26, was drinking water at a Pani puri stall in the afternoon when a car pulled up. Three unidentified persons got out of the vehicle, and one of them attacked him with a weapon. He died on the spot, and the assailants fled the scene. The incident took place at around 5 pm.
"Three to four people arrived in a car. One person got out, followed Haribabu and attacked him on the neck and head with a knife used for cutting coconuts," the ACP said.
Police have formed special teams to trace the assailants. The teams examined the scene and collected evidence, including CCTV footage.
In a video circulating on social media. Sathosh, the brother of YouTuber Vaishnavi, claimed responsibility for the daylight murder.
Police were already suspecting her family members of the involved in the killing.
In the video, Santhosh said that he had been waiting for justice for his sister for months after his sister's murder.
He appealed to the viewers to support him and help him in the cases against him. He said that he came to Nizamabad on Thursday for another purpose and was carrying crowds in his vehicle. On spotting Hari and his mother, he allegedly attacked the man. He said such an incident should not happen to any family.
He alleged that his sister’s murder was linked to Hari’s family and claimed that he was unaware of his mother’s involvement.
At the end of the video, he says he has a wife and children and appealed to the public to help him fight cases against him as he was surrendering to the police. The video is yet to be verified.
