Hyderabad police have detained Rama Nandana, known for her YouTube channel ‘Nandu’s World’, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad after a Look Out Circular was issued against her.

The airport police are expected to hand over her custody to the Ibrahimpatnam police for further action.

Rama Nandana and her husband J Madhukar are accused of extorting large sums of money from people seeking jobs in London. They reportedly collected the sums by promising to arrange jobs and sponsorships in London, UK. They targetted unemployed persons by assuring them high-paying jobs.

The couple hails from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. They gained massive popularity through the YouTube channel Nandu’s World, which posts lifestyle and family content. The channel has 2.8 million subscribers, and the 15-to 20-minute videos have garnered a total of 2 billion views.

Nandana also featured in the film 'Mana Shankara Varaprasad' starring Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Police say that multiple cases under fraud charges were registered against the couple in Ibrahimpatnam and other parts of the state.

Police are probing the allegations against the YouTuber and her husband. They are also investigating the amounts collected from the victims and the extent of the alleged fraud.

One of the victims hailing from Ibrahimpatnam alleged that he paid the couple Rs 1.5 lakh after he had contacted them through Destiy Consultancy to get a visa renewal. He told police that he did not receive the promised services and that the CoS given to him was also fake.

One complainant said that they were cheated of Rs 15-20 lakh to the couple.
