The deaths of 18-year-old Kunal Chandwade and his parents over an iPhone dispute has revealed some shocking details about the case and about Khavdya Hill (Khavdya Dongar) in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where the tragedy took place.

“There is no solution now. There is only one solution,” he had said with some determination, as per eyewitness and Tisgaon sarpanch Sanjay Jadhav.
However, in a major twist, it has been revealed that Kunal had attempted suicide from the same spot back in 2025, as per a Times of India report.
However, the circumstances of that 2025 attempt and how Kunal escaped certain death are unclear.
The triple fatality of Chandwade family members Kunal, his father Murlidhar, and his mother Sangeeta, has also revealed shocking information about the hill itself, located along the Dhule-Solapur highway in the Tisgaon area.
Locals have called the area a suicide point after at least 13 deaths have taken place here so far, as per a Lokmat report.
In fact, this place was also the site of an honour killing back in January 2025, when a 25-year-old pushed his 17-year-old cousin off the Khavdya Hill as he was upset with her affair, and had allegedly planned the murder beforehand to restore the family's "honour".
Locals have also flagged the lack of safety measures here, despite it being a dangerous, steep cliff with rough winds. In fact, no fence or net has been installed to prevent people from going the top of the hill, nor is there any board prohibiting entry, which people have now demanded from the local administration.
