The woman and her son had been found dead on the evening of Oct 30 inside the duct of a residential building in the Signature Park Society in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Nearly a day after the suicide of a 33-year-old woman and her six-year-old son in Maharashtra's Pimpri-Chinchwad, the police on Saturday recovered her suicide note, which lists the heartbreaking reason for their deaths.

The two had been found dead on Friday evening inside the duct of a residential building in the Signature Park Society near Dange Chowk, with initial reports stating that they had jumped into the duct from the building's 18th floor.

Identified as 33-year-old Ekta Bangad, her suicide note of 7-8 pages reportedly urges her husband, Manoj, to remarry after her death and begin life anew.

This is because she had reportedly been suffering from a spinal condition for many years, but had not received any treatment for it, despite consulting several hospitals. The family hails from Rajasthan, but had been living here in Maharashtra for about two years.

As per local media reports, she had said in the note that after her death, she feared Manoj might not be able to explain it to their son, Madhav, which would make him distressed. She was also worried that the responsibility of a young child might make it difficult for her husband to remarry after her death.

With the residents of the Signature Park Society now left shocked, the Wakad Police has registered the case as an accidental death, amid further investigation.

Apart from CCTV footage of the incident, which confirmed that the two had jumped from the 18th floor, the suicide note is also being examined to establish the circumstances leading to the suicide.
