BJP president Nitin Nabin has announced his new team after the party went through a rejig. The organisational overhaul was announced on Monday.
The new list includes leaders like Smriti Irani, Vasundhara Raje Scindia and Manpreet Badal.
Among the 13 vice presidents are Tirath Singh Rawat, Ram Madhav, Baijayant Jay Panda, D. Purandeshwari, Rekha Darma, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, Bharti Praveen Pawar, Lal Singh Arya, M. Nagaraj, Tariq Mansoor and Madhuchandra Kar. Six of the members are women.
The overhaul comes after the party gave special consideration to youth and women along with caste categories.
The eight general secretaries include Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi, Sanjay Bhatia and Smriti Irani.
Other changes include Amit Malviya being dropped as IT cell chief and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal becoming the party’s National Treasurer.
Malviya has been replaced by Deepak Mhaskey from Chhattisgarh.
B L Santhosh is to continue as the party's National General Secretary.
The list also includes several leaders from Uttar Pradesh, which is set to have its assembly election next year.
The appointments are set to take effect immediately, according to a party press release dated August 17.
